MASCOBADO (generic name: muscovado),
the brown sugar of old, is another major product of Alter Trade.
Alter Trade's product is known by its trademark,
Alter Trade
Mascobado. It is made from organically grown sugarcanes
cultivated in lands under conversion plan. Inspection by The Institute
of Marketology (IMO) of the farms are regularly
processed and certified organic and in coversion.
It is manufactured under strict hygienic standards,
during which the canes' natural qualities are maintained. Mascobado
is made non-centrifugally, one, which involves nothing more than
the evaporation process. This was the same process used by native
Filipino inhabitants before the Spanish colonization of 1521.
Alter
Trade Mascobado caters to both local and international
demands of taste and product quality. It is used to manufacture
"Mascao," a chocolate candy bar in Switzerland and Germany. In
other parts of Europe and Japan in particular, it is used as a
sweetener for cakes, pastries, coffee and other beverages. In
the Philippines, it is an important ingredient for piaya, native
rice cakes, bread and other native pastries. It is also used for
fruit jams and processed meat like tocino and chorizo.
Alter Trade Mascobado comes in 25kg.,
1kg. and ½ kg packs, and in 5-gram and 10-gram sachets.
