Who We  Are?

Alter Trade Foundation Incorporated was established and registered with the Security and Exchange Commission in June 30, 1997 in response to the call of Non-Government Organizations and Peoples Organization to assist agrarian reform beneficiaries and other marginal farmers in need of production capital, technology and market access for their goods. 

The purposes for which ATFI was incorporated were:

1.   to promote sustainable agriculture among farmers and other organized groups through organic farming;

2.   to provide technology for productive and sustainable use of the land by organized farmers and small farming households;

3.   to extend soft-term financial assistance to marginal farmers; and

4.   to solicit grants and donations from institutions both local and abroad for its funded programs.

 

Our Development Goals 

To realize its mission, Alter Trade Foundation Inc. intends to achieve the following long-term development goals:

 

1.   Facilitate the formation of Sustainable Agriculture & Organic Farming (SA-OF)    

      practicing communities in contiguous areas towards self-governance, self      

      sustainability and being pro-active in accessing basic social services land tenure

      improvement;

 

2.  Capacitate practicing SA-OF communities to access services,       

      credits, markets while promoting fair trade principles;

3.   Promote and establish SA-OF farming for sugarcane, balangon and other agricultural products;

And in order to effectively pursue our 3 long-term development goals we collectively agreed to a fourth long-term organizational goal to wit:

 

4.   Development of ATFI as a professional, innovative and socially responsible foundation that can 

      operate independent of external core funding.
